In this video, I share my personal story of planting an olive tree and how it became a quiet, daily reminder to remember Allah — even when I’m not thinking about it.

Seven (7) Qur'an Verses that Mention the Olive Tree

Here are seven (7) beautiful verses from the Qur'an that speak of the olive — a blessed creation full of symbolism and divine signs.

May they serve as reminders of Allah’s presence in nature and within us.

1. Surah An-Nahl (16:11)

"With it He produces for you various crops, olives, palm trees, grapevines, and every type of fruit. Surely in this is a sign for those who reflect." 📖 (An-Nahl 16:11)

2. Surah An-Nur (24:35)

"Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp... lit from a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills." 📖 (An-Nur 24:35)

3. Surah At-Tin (95:1)

"By the fig and the olive..." 📖 (At-Tin 95:1)

4. Surah Al-An'am (6:141)

"He is the One Who produces gardens—both cultivated and wild—and date-palms, crops of different flavors, olives, and pomegranates—similar yet different. Eat of their fruit in season but give their due on harvest day. And do not waste. Surely, He does not like the wasteful." 📖 (Al-An'am 6:141)

5. Surah 'Abasa (80:29)

"...and olives and palm trees..." 📖 (‘Abasa 80:29)

6. Surah Al-Mu’minun (23:20)

"...and olive trees that grow at Mount Sinai, providing oil and a condiment to eat." 📖 (Al-Mu’minun 23:20)

7. Surah Al-An'am (6:99)

"And it is He who sends down rain from the sky... and gardens of grapevines, olives, and pomegranates, similar and dissimilar. Look at their fruits as they begin to bear fruit and ripen. Surely in these are signs for people who believe." 📖 (Al-An’am 6:99)

Even one tree — like the olive — can bring you closer to Allah.

May we never underestimate the spiritual power of what grows from the earth, by His will.
